What they are
The Estonian DanceSport Association (Eesti Tantsuspordi Liit, ETSL) was founded in 1991 and was Estonia's WDSF member until WDSF expelled it in May 2022. The Estonian DanceSport Union (Eesti Tantsuspordi Ühendus, EDSU), registered in 2020, was accepted in its place in October 2022 and has been a full WDSF member since November 2022.
Both are active. Dancers who want to compete in WDSF international events go through EDSU; ETSL continues to hold Estonian competitions and championships under its own rules. Which one a club belongs to matters for where its couples can dance.
Members
Both bodies are made up of clubs. Neither publishes a current member count that we could confirm, so we do not give one.

ETSL classes. Beginner classes, then E, D, C, B, A and S. A couple earns points for each start and for final places, and needs 100 points with the same partner to move up from E upward. Dancers register with ETSL each year; professionals register through its professional section.
EDSU. EDSU publishes its own competition rules, permitted figures, rankings and the WDSF licence process on its site.
Main events
EDSU organises the Tallinn Open, a WDSF Open held each winter, and the Estonian championships under WDSF rules. ETSL runs its own Estonian championships and cup series.
How they are governed
Each is a non-profit association with its own board. Both list their current board members on their own sites.
Official links
We do not print the names of current presidents or board members, because they change. The links above go to the federation's own list.
This page is an independent summary written from the body's own published sources. DanceFlow is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sanctioned by it.
